Jaguar Land Rover and Meridian extend their collaboration

Jaguar Land Rover has announced that it will be extending its long‑term engineering collaboration with British consumer audio and home theatre equipment manufacturer Meridian to develop high‑performance in‑car audio technology for its next generation of electric vehicles.
The deepened collaboration will see Meridian's specialists adding their input into the design of Jaguar Land Rover's models at an earlier stage, so its cars and cabin can deliver an optimum audio experience.
Both firms will also be working to improve the refinement provided by Jaguar Land Rover's MLA‑Flex body architecture via a third generation Active Noise Cancellation system. The system will monitor wheel vibrations, tyre noise, and engine sounds transmitted into the cabin and generates a cancelling signal, which is played through the system's speakers.
The firms will also be working on a new Range Rover Tailgate Event Suite, which adds four rear speakers into the firm's cars, perfect for use when socialising with the tailgate deployed.
The top-of-the-range 1,600W Meridian Signature Sound System currently available in Range Rover models makes use of 35 speakers (including two 20W speakers in each of the four main headrests). The two firms have been working together since 2010 and Range Rover offers the audio firm's speaker system across its house of brands including Range Rover, Defender, Discovery and Jaguar.
