Jaguar will utilise technology from the C-X75 in future offerings

The high tech and ground breaking Jaguar C-X75 hybrid supercar featured some impressive technology thanks to genius minds of Jaguar and the Williams F1 team. Unfortunately Jaguar has decided to pull the plug on the project. Still it is pleasing to read certain technology developed for the C-X75 will make its appearance on other cars in the future.

The carbon fibre chassis was co-developed with the Williams F1 team and will be featured in trim Jaguars in the future. The C-X75's alloys are 40 percent lighter but much stronger thanks to new casting methods. Current C-X75 prototypes have an astonishing 17 radiators and an aero slick aerodynamics including an F1 derived blown diffuser. The twin charged 1.6-litre engine has over 500bhp while light electric motors will boost small engines in the future.

Initially Jaguar decided to build a limited 250 units of the £1 million (S$1.97 million) flagship in 2015, but only has five working prototypes for now.

Jaguar's Global Brand Director Adrian Hallmark commented, "Considering the economic landscape, making a £800,000 (S$1.57 million) to £1 million (S$1.97million) supercar seems wrong. There are more important projects we are working on."

The five prototypes will be further tuned for the next five months - until it hits the target of a century sprint timing of 2.8 seconds and a 329km/h top speed. Yet two extremely lucky buyers with deep pockets could still get their hands on one of two C-X75 prototypes through auctions.
