Flying Huntsman, the coachbuilding arm of handcrafted vehicle manufacturer Kahn Automobiles, has revealed that it is now building a Flying Huntsman 90 Spyder, an open-top Defender.
The Flying Huntsman 90 Spyder is based on the current generation Land Rover Defender platform, and each example is said to utilise lightweight aluminium body panels, all handcrafted and hammer forged in a six-month build process that ensures that each example is a unique grand tourer for two.
The vehicle will also get a removable, hard-wearing canvas roof which can be easily stowed in a dedicated cowl which is said to leave storage capacity untouched compared to the factory Defender 90. All this work will be performed in Coventry, at the factory that has also worked on vehicles such as the Aston Martin One 77, amongst other coach-built projects.
The first units of the Flying Huntsman 90 Spyder are set for completion by mid-2024. Production is said to be limited to just eight examples a year, with all being offered with the opportunity to commission a completely bespoke forged wheel design.
