Lamborghini reveals sportscar-inspired line of pens

Lamborghini is rewriting luxury alongside another luxury Italian name - literally, with its latest collection: A limited-edition range of fountain and rollerball pens.
Named Automobili Lamborghini 60°, the collection was made in collaboration with Montegrappa, Italy's leading luxury pen manufacturer, and as its name might suggest, was inspired by the designs of its cars from the 1960s. Handcrafted entirely in Italy, only 60 fountain pens and 60 rollerball pens will be made, and in six distinctive Lamborghini colours.
Lamborghini says the collection pays homage to the cars first and foremost with their ultralight hexagonal profile, which are apparently mead of aerospace-grade aluminium and coated in forged carbon fibre.
Lamborghini cockpits have come to be defined, too, by their iconic aerospace-inspired red 'Start' button, and the both types of pens in the collection will pay homage to this with a unique opening mechanism - for quick access to the ink chamber. A red alloy snap switch at the base of the pen actives the mechanism.
Another specific Lamborghini-inspired elements is a molded black alloy Y-shaped clip, and a hexagonal plate with the emblem of the supercar manufacturer's 60th anniversary. If you want the iconic Lamborghini badging, however, you'll want to get the fountain pens, on which Automobili Lamborghini's shield is decked out in gold engraved on a ruthenium-plated 18K gold nib.
All pens come with an black 60th anniversary case, and will be available at fine retail shops and boutiques, as well as on official online stores from Lamborghini and Montegrappa.
