Lotus appoints Ben Payne as its Vice President of Design

Lotus has appointed Ben Payne as its Vice President of Design.

Ben brings to Lotus an extensive knowledge of automotive design, having recently led the team at Lotus for the design development of the Eletre SUV. Mr. Payne held influential roles at firms including Aston Martin and Bugatti, alongside a diverse consultancy experience with Makkina before joining Lotus.

In his new role, Ben will oversee all design for the Lotus brand, working closely with group leadership and collaborating with the commercial team to drive forward the growth of Lotus.

Lotus only recently announced that it saw a successful first half of 2023, with its order book growing to approximately 17,000 vehicles worldwide for the Eletre electric SUV and the Emira. The firm also produced more than 2,200 examples of the Emira at its Norfolk facility, a 381% increase from 2022. The order book for the Emira is said to currently be full for the next two years.
