Lotus launches the T127 Formula One car

The T127 is finished in the classic deep green with yellow trim that harks back to the traditional Lotus racing colours, and was launched at an event in London on Friday evening. Lotus is the third last team to unveil its car, with USF1 and Campos yet to reveal their offerings.

Being the last team to confirm their entry for the 2010 Formula One season, Lotus had to design their car quickly, with technical chief Mike Gascoyne saying that work began in September last year and that the car is slightly overweight.

"We know it is not going to be easy. We are running out of time before Bahrain," said Lotus driver Jarno Trulli, whose teammate this year is another established F1 driver, Heikki Kovalainen. "What they have achieved so far is great but for this year we have to be realistic. We know we will have troubles, but we have to be reliable, decent and show great promise," he added.
