LTA has announced that the new Hume MRT station on the Downtown Line (DTL) will open for passenger service at 03:00pm on 28 February 2025.
Located along Upper Bukit Timah Road and situated between Hillview MRT and Beauty World MRT on the DTL, the new station will serve existing residential developments along Hume Avenue and provide convenient access to the Rail Corridor (Central) and Former Ford Factory. Residents staying nearby will also see their travel time cut by up to 15 minutes if they want to reach Downtown.
Hume station will have two entrances, one facing Upper Bukit Timah Road and the other facing Hume Avenue. To enhance first-and-last mile connectivity to the station, sheltered linkways will provide access to nearby bus stops and pick-up/drop-off points, as well as 60 bicycle parking lots located near the entrances.
With the completion of this new station, DTL will have a total of 35 operational stations, with extensions to connect the DTL with the Thomson-East Coast Line and the North-South Line currently underway and scheduled for completion in the second half of 2026 and in 2035 respectively.
