LTA awards four Thomson Line contracts totalling $1.13 billion

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has awarded another four civil contracts for the Thomson Line - totalling $1.13 billion. The upcoming MRT line will run from Woodlands to Gardens by the Bay.
KTC Civil Engineering & Construction has been awarded the contract to build Orchard Boulevard station for around $143 million. A joint venture by Tiong Seng Contractor and Dongah Geological Engineering Co. was awarded a $316 million contract to build Great World station and the linking tunnels.
Tiong Seng Contractor is also working on the construction of Downtown Line 2's Hillview and Cashew stations, while Dongah was involved in various LTA projects including the Marina Coastal Expressway (MCE).
In addition, Korean firm Daelim Industrial Co. and Shanghai Tunnel Engineering Co. have won contracts amounting to $301 million and $368 million respectively. They will build the Outram station, Shenton Way station and their linking tunnels.
The 30km, 22-station Thomson Line is expected to be completed in three stages from 2019 to 2021.
