LTA celebrates CNY by decorating public transport assets
16 Jan 2025|55 views
LTA has collaborated with the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre, People's Association, and public transport operators such as SBS Transit, SMRT, and Tower Transit Singapore to celebrate CNY with specially designed festive-themed trains, MRT stations, and buses.
The CNY-themed public transport assets will feature colourful cultural icons such as gold ingots, pussy willows, traditional snacks, reunion dinner dishes, and families dressed in festive outfits. Playful messages such as "Don’t get tongue-tied with greetingsssss" will also be displayed, with these light-hearted touches meant to symbolise the Year of the Snake.
Wall murals at selected MRT stations will also showcase snippets of Chingay 2025, offering a preview of this year's theme, "JOY", through a vibrant "Food Wonderland" parade featuring floats inspired by local dishes such as chilli crab, nasi lemak, and tutu kueh.
From now till 13 February 2025, selected trains on all six rail lines as well as Bus Services 51, 106, 133, 190, and 851 will be adorned with these festive decorations. All this is part of LTA's efforts to liven up the commuting experience during the festive season and to foster a positive commuter culture.
