In a poll conducted by Land Transport Authority (LTA), around half of the 100 organisations interviewed said they have flexible work options in place, so that their employees can enjoy the perks of off-peak commuting.
However, less than one in 10 employees in such companies were aware of such schemes, or had access to them.
This findings were revealed by Minister of State for Transport, Josephine Teo, at the Travel Smart Day seminar. The event aims to help companies to initiate measures to change the travel patterns of their employees. The programme started in October last year, with seven companies taking part. Now, there are 12 companies involved in initiating flexible work arrangements.
A similar survey done on public servants showed that 35 percent of respondents would like to change their current work timings, with close to seven percent indicated that they were willing to start work before 7:45am.
