Mazda to showcase facelifted 2 at the Paris Motor Show

The facelifted Mazda 2 will get a redesigned front end with new bumpers and a revised version of Mazda's grille, as well as some minor interior improvements. Mazda has also tweaked the 2's chassis for better ride comfort, and all engines are now Euro 5 emissions standard compliant.

Mazda has also announced that it will introduce a new 1.6-litre turbo diesel powerplant at the Paris Motor Show. The new unit will be fitted to its 3 family car and 5 MPV models, and produces 115bhp when mated to a six-speed manual transmission.

The new engine is said to offer improved fuel economy, with Mazda quoting a figure of 5.2 litres per 100km when fitted to the Mazda 5 MPV, and 4.4 litres per 100km when the engine is fitted to the 3 family car.
