McLaren Automotive has achieved both an operating and pre-tax profit for the first time in 2013 - in only its third year of car production - a significant achievement for an independent British automaker operating in a highly competitive global market.

The company also delivered 1,359 12Cs and 36 examples of the critically acclaimed McLaren P1 hypercar (banner) during the year.
McLaren Automotive continued to expand its geographical reach in 2013, opening 13 new showrooms and growing its global network to 50 retailers in 28 international markets.
The company plans to open another 20 retailers during 2014 and to have over 100 locations in its global network by 2018.
Thanks to marque's improved profitability, the automaker can continuously invest in R&D in order to develop and sell - what it claims - are the world's most exciting and technologically advanced high-performance cars.
Its next sports car, codenamed P13, will be available before the end of 2015 and will take its range into a lower price point - making McLaren more accessible. The mid-engined two seater Sportscar would be built around a carbon fibre chassis and will be available in more than one derivative. Once fully on sale, McLaren Automotive's total annual production will increase to around 4,000 units annually.
In addition, McLaren has also revealed they would produce a limited run - track-only - edition of the McLaren P1. The P1 track variant will be the company's most powerful car yet, and is only available to clients who have ordered one of the 375 McLaren P1's.
