Sporty driving pleasure, an emotive six-cylinder sound, and fully variable all-wheel drive with dynamic drift mode. The new Mercedes-AMG GLC 53 4MATIC+ promises a typical AMG driving experience with even more driving enjoyment.
At the heart of the new model is the 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder engine with twin turbocharging via an exhaust gas turbocharger and an electric auxiliary compressor. Redesigned to offer even more agile responsiveness and increased revving capability, the engine coughs up an output of 443bhp and 600Nm of torque, which can go up to 640Nm with 'overboost'.
In terms of performance, the Mercedes-AMG GLC 53 4MATIC+ completes the century sprint in 4.2 seconds with Race Start from the AMG Dynamic Plus package. It has an electronically limited top speed of 250km/h that can be increased to 270km/h with the optional AMG Driver’s package.
The engine is also complemented by the AMG Speedshift TCT 9G transmission and the fully variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive. Also included is the electronically controlled rear-axle limited-slip differential with the Drift Mode, available for the first time in an AMG SUV.
Mercedes-AMG has also said that the optional Golden Accents package will be available for a year from the market launch. It offers two exterior colour choices: Obsidian Black Metallic or Graphite Grey Mango, which are combined with numerous details in Techgold. Extensive additional equipment features further emphasise its distinctive look. The subtle AMG logo decals on the sides of the vehicle are another optional distinguishing feature.
The matte black 21-inch AMG forged wheels in a cross-spoke design are accented with tech-gold rim flanges and wheel covers. Behind the wheels, gloss black brake callipers are visible, adorned with white AMG logos. A refined detail is the silver chrome fuel filler cap with AMG lettering and black design elements.
The interior of the Golden Accents Package sees AMG sports seats upholstered in elegant black leather, which are stylishly accentuated by seat bolsters and decorative stitching matching the exterior accents. The door panels and instrument panel also feature contrasting decorative stitching in the same colour. The AMG carbon fibre trim elements are woven with metallic threads, complementing the package's tech-gold accents.
The attention to detail is also evident in the AMG door sills. They feature an AMG pattern design in black and illuminate the AMG logo in white. AMG floor mats with beige decorative stitching complete the interior upgrades.
With the AMG Night Package, exterior elements such as the mirror housings and trim strips are finished in high-gloss black. The AMG Night Package II is also available. It is ideal for individualists who appreciate high-class design details. Additional elements such as the struts of the radiator grille, the AMG crest on the hood, and the model designations are finished in black chrome.
