Mercedes-Benz builds one-off G-Class to mark model's production milestone

Mercedes-Benz is commemorating the production of the 500,000th G-Class by building it as a special one-off example inspired by the G-Class of the early years.
The special example comes complete with an agave green exterior finish, one of the first paints available for the G-Class. Contrasting this green are turn signals in a shade of orange that evoke the look of vehicles from the 1970s, and no longer used today.
The special car also gets a historic spare wheel cover with the Mercedes star, the brand badge on the rear door, as well as five-spoke sterling silver wheel, all chosen to evoke the early examples of the G-Class. Inside, the car comes with its middle seat upholstered in chequered fabric, typical for the time, while the grab handle on the passenger side also sports 'No. 500,000' lettering in agave green.
The Mercedes-Benz G-Class will be celebrating its 45th production anniversary come 2024.
