45 years ago, the world witnessed the inception of the Mercedes-AMG branding, which over the years has gradually become known as the perfomance embodiment of Mercedes, giving the cars an aggressive look, high performance and carbon fibre treatment. Mercedes-Benz is celebrating the 45th anniversary of the AMG and what better way to do it than to release a special edition model. That's right, Mercedes has unveiled the new SLS AMG GT3 45th Anniversary edition to mark the occasion. Wearing an exclusive matt paintwork, this special model rides on AMG light alloys in designo magno graphite.
Carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) is used for the doors, boot lid, hood, mudguards, front/rear apron, rear wings, rear diffuser and front splitter. Interior wise, there is a steel roll-over cage that has the same finish as the exterior, while the centre console and the dashboard feature a similar matt carbon fibre appearance.
Under the hood, the model has retained the AMG V8 6.3-litre engine that enables the race car to perform the 0-100km/h sprint in 3.7 seconds before reaching a top speed of 300km/h. This special edition will be a limited release of 5 units.
