The Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG 6x6 has made headlines since its debut, but the automaker is not resting on its laurels. The German marque recently introduced a new variant for its iconic G-Class off-roader - the G500 4x42.
The new model gets a new 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 engine, which makes 422bhp. To make it the ultimate off-roader, Mercedes-Benz has fitted the G500 4x42 with the portal axles from the 6x6, coupled with a newly-developed variable chassis with dual spring/damper struts and adjustable damping.
On the outside, the iconic G-Class body now sports carbon fibre detachable body parts, with 22-inch wheels fitted as standard to give it a stronger sporting stance. It will also feature integral LED light strips above the windscreen and elaborate partially painted wheel arch flarings - both in fine carbon fibre - plus the front bumper on the G 63 AMG and G 65 AMG models.
Occupants of the G 500 4x4² can also expect comfort and an ambience on par with a luxury saloon. The G 500 4x4² offers an exclusive ambience with the designo Exclusive package. The seat bolsters and head restraints as well as the dashboard, centre console and armrests in the doors are styled in black designo leather with white contrasting top stitching. The seat surfaces and door panels are covered in DINAMICA and impress with their attractive diamond-design quilting. In addition to this, there is DINAMICA trim for the roof liner and the body pillars.
