With the introduction of its new Hybrid+ technology to deliver even more for its popular SUV range, MG U.K. has revealed more details for the hybrid variant of its HS model, the HS Hybrid+, which will be offered in two trim levels: The HS Hybrid+ SE and HS Hybrid+ Trophy.
The MG Hybrid+ powertrain consists of a 1.5-litre petrol engine capable of 141bhp, working in tandem with an 146kW (196bhp) electric motor, on board generator, and a 1.8kWh battery. Combined power is an impressive 221bhp, which allows the MG HS Hybrid+ to complete the century sprint in 7.9 seconds.
MG U.K. has also said that all equipment levels, storage options, practical features, and advanced safety features on the HS will also be available on the HS Hybrid+.
The HS Hybrid+ features two 12.3-inch HD displays, with the central display dedicated to infotainment with live navigation services including weather, live traffic updates, access to Amazon Music, and smartphone connectivity via both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The second 12.3-inch display will offer two themes - light and dark - as well as three modes: Map, Digital, and ADAS. Each offers its own unique layout, focusing on either a rolling navigation display or a simplified display of only the most important information.
Meanwhile, the Trophy trim will feature a 360° surround view camera with real-time visualisation of the vehicle and its surroundings, which is powered by the driver assistance systems, as well as wireless smartphone charging.
The Hybrid+'s extensive equipment offering extends to automatic full LED headlights with a follow-me-home function, rear parking sensors, electrically adjustable heated door mirrors, six-way adjustable electric driver's seat and a four-way adjustable front passenger sea. Additional highlights include the car's rain-sensing wipers, cruise control, and an electric parking brake with auto-hold function.
Standard safety features include the likes of Active Emergency Braking with Pedestrian and Bicycle Detection, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning System, and Blind Spot Detection with Lane Change Assist. The ADAS suite is rounded off with other features including Driver Attention Alert, Forward Collision Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and a Door Open Warning.
The MG Hybrid+ has a boot capacity of 507 litres, with multiple storage options within the cabin. In addition, the HS Hybrid+ can support up to 75kg on its twin roof rails.
MG U.K. has said that both the HS Hybrid+ SE and the HS Hybrid+ Trophy trims for the HS Hybrid+ variant are available now in the U.K. This hybrid variant is also slated to arrive on Singapore's shores in the second half of 2025.
