Missed out on the MINI Paddy Hopkirk Edition launched here a few years back? You'll be glad to note that MINI Singapore is now offering a new special edition car that once again celebrates the firm's success in the world of rallying.
This time, it's the 1965 Monte Carlo Rally that's under the spotlight, a landmark motorsport event that saw Timo Makinen and Paul Easter taking victory in their Mini Cooper S. And this new special edition car that celebrates this rallying success is thus called the MINI 1965 Victory Edition.
Both variants of the MINI 1965 Victory Edition come with special rims that feature a floating centre hub cap and special valve covers
Now also available here in Singapore, the special edition car is every bit as exciting as the rallying event from which it draws inspiration. Kicking things off are its enticing looks: This MINI 1965 Victory Edition comes in an enthralling Chili Red exterior - the perfect background for its white trim stripe that extends from its bonnet to the roof and rear.
You'll also note that the special edition car comes with a large number '52' emblazoned across its sides, linking it to the original car that took victory in 1965. These pair with the '1965' badges that adorn the C-pillar and also appear at the rear of the car.
The cabin of the special edition cars also feature '1965' lettering below the six o'clock spoke of their steering wheels
Open the car's doors and you'll notice another link to the rally-winning car: The driver's door of this special edition model features a dedication sticker that offers some information about 1965 rallying event.
Special '1965' lettering also features below the six o'clock spoke of this special edition car's steering wheel and on the car's storage box in the centre console. The MINI 1965 Victory Edition also features an edition-specific door sill complete with a white '1965' written on a red and black background.
The MINI 1965 Victory Edition is being offered here in Singapore as either a petrol-powered MINI John Cooper Works variant or the MINI John Cooper Works Electric variant
Only a total of three examples of the MINI 1965 Victory Edition will be offered here in Singapore.
Of these three, only one example of the petrol-powered MINI John Cooper Works variant will be available here. This variant offers a total of 228bhp alongside a maximum torque of 380Nm, allowing it to complete the century sprint in 6.1 seconds. This variant of the special edition model can be identified by its JCW Lap Spoke two-tone Design rims, which come complete with floating centre hubs and JCW tyre valve caps.
Those more interested in electric power will also be able to get this special edition model as a MINI John Cooper Works Electric variant. Two examples of this variant will be offered here, both delivering an output of 190kW and able to complete the same sprint in just 5.9 seconds. This all-electric variant gets JCW Mastery Spoke black rims that also feature floating centre hubs and JCW tyre valve caps.
