MINI unveils a Paul Smith special you can actually buy

Drop everything and take a seat. MINI and world-renowned fashion designer Paul Smith have just revealed the product of their latest collaboration, and it looks like there's a good chance you can get your hands on one.

Unlike this special PS Bespoke edition MINI or this stripped-out concept car, the new MINI Paul Smith Edition you're looking at in the gallery above will be available for purchase from MINI showrooms. And MINI even adds that you'll be able to get yours as a MINI Cooper 3-door or a 5-door. And there's even the option to get one as a convertible if you wish - you'll only won't be able to get one as a John Cooper Works car.

The MINI Paul Smith Edition comes in three exterior paint finishes. The first is Statement Grey, described as a clear, bluish-tinted grey shade, and a modern interpretation of a classic Mini Austin Seven colour from 1959.

There's also Inspired White, a popular classic Mini Beige colour. And then there's Midnight Black Metallic, a classic colour from the current MINI family - and the colour that is deployed on that special PS Bespoke edition.

All examples will also come with Nottingham Green side mirrors and wheel hub covers, while their octagonal radiator grille will also come in the same colour - in tribute to Sir Paul's hometown.

Customers can get their MINI Paul Smith Edition car complete with a Nottingham Green roof or one that features Jet Black stripes of varying thickness

Opt to have your roof in this colour, and you'll also get your car roof complete with Paul Smith's 'Signature Stripe' just aft of the driver's door. But you'll also be able to pick your car with a roof that comes decorated with Jet Black stripes of varying thickness. And for the MINI Cooper Convertible Paul Smith Edition, a black soft top is supplied.

All special edition cars also come with 18-inch Night Flash Spoke black aluminium wheels.

In the cabin, the MINI Paul Smith Edition features Nightshade Blue sports seats complete with a knitted textile in the shoulder and headrest areas. The surfaces on the dashboard and door panels here are also black, while the dashboard features Paul Smith fabrics in tone-on-tone stripe patterns. The car also gets its steering wheel textile band designed in bright colours - a quintessentially Paul Smith touch.
