MINI unveils new 1965 Victory Edition hatchback

MINI has launched a new special edition of its beloved new hatchback.
Joining a lineup that already comprises of the 66 Collection and the Paul Smith Edition, this new 1965 Victory Edition celebrates the firm's victory at the 1965 Monte Carlo Rally. The event saw Timo Makinen and co-driver Paul Easter taking victory behind the wheel of the Mini Cooper S.
The MINI 1965 Victory Edition features a white '52' graphic on its sides as well as a '1965' sticker on its C-pillar
The MINI 1965 Victory Edition is offered across the MINI John Cooper Works, MINI John Cooper Works Electric and MINI Cooper S models.
Pick the MINI Cooper S variant and your car will come with a 201bhp 2.0-litre engine, allowing it to reach 100km/h from a standstill in 6.6 seconds. The MINI John Cooper Works variant, meanwhile, gets 228bhp and will complete the same sprint in just 6.1 seconds. Pick the all-electric option, and you'll get a total of 256bhp, so the same sprint takes just 5.9 seconds.
But what you're really concerned about is the fact that this MINI 1965 Victory Edition comes in Chili Red and sprots a white stripe that stretches from its bonnet to the rear. Just like on the MINI Paddy Hopkirk edition, this stripe also features the registration number of the rally-winning historic car it celebrates.
The car also gets a short descriptor of the 1965 rally on its doors and features a special '1965' logo on its steering wheel
And of course, there's a white '52' graphic that adorns both sides of the vehicle, another nod to the number displayed on the rally-winning Mini all those years back. The present-day special edition car also gets a '1965' sticker on its C-pillar and 18-inch alloys (available in two different designs depending on the variant you pick).
All examples of the MINI 1965 Victory Edition will also come with special door sills, while a short description of the defining rally features on the inside of the car's doors. The car's six o'clock spoke of its steering wheel and its storage box also comes with '1965' lettering, as does its key cap.
Expect the 1965 Victory Edition to arrive in showrooms across Europe come July 2026.
