More than 170 years of excellence as the leading lubricant and engine oil maker in the automotive industry - and a commitment to reinforcing this position even further still, as the mobility space enters a greener and more digitalised era.
This was perhaps the key message that Motul Singapore had for its Motul 2025 Dealers' Conference, which saw its esteemed dealers and partners gathering altogether once more for a night of good food and cheer on Wednesday evening (19 February 2025), at The Southern Depot at Gillman Barracks.
This year's Motul Dealers' Conference was held at The Southern Depot at Gillman Barracks, and saw the company outlining its exciting plans for the new year as it looked back on a successful 2024
2024 was a landmark year for the company not just in terms of the successful track day events, dealer partnerships, and community engagement programmes it managed to roll out.
Rather, it also saw the volume of products shifted growing by approximately 20% - an incredible feat considering both the limited size of Singapore’s market and the evolving automotive landscape.
While unable to attend the event in person due to work commitments, Lionel Dantiacq, CEO of Motul Asia Pacific, nonetheless took the effort to record a special video message for those present, referring to them as the "cornerstone of Motul's success", and thanking them for both their faith in Motul’s products, and also their constant invaluable feedback.
Though unable to join the event in person, CEO of Motul Asia Pacific, Lionel Dantiacq, made sure to record a special appreciation message for guests present. Dantiacq referred to Motul's esteemed dealer partners as the "cornerstone of Motul's success" and thanked them for their unwavering support and willingness to share feedback
Speaking of products, 2025 sees Motul doubling down on its commitment to sustainability.
One of the key names that you should see becoming a mainstay of workshops is the brand's greener NGEN range, which is composed of high-end regenerated base oils matching the performance of Motul's pre-existing, fully synthetic oils. The NGEN lineup is also sold in packaging that is not only made from 50% recycled plastics, but can also be recycled further down the line.
Fresh on the market (already) is the NGEN7 sustainable high performance 4T motor oil for motorcycles.
Available in 5W40, 10W40 and 10W50 viscosities, the NGEN7 is said to enable faster engine response by incorporating Motul's patented Ester technology. Adhering to the higher-level JASO MA2 standard, it is also able to increase clutch grip, and improve shifting, by offering increased frictional performance. Finally, the oil's high quality NGEN base stock provides high thermal protection and resistance.
It’s not just Singaporean riders, however, that stand to enjoy Motul's NGEN range.
Soon to hit the market as well is the NGEN HYBRID - a synthetic engine oil designed specifically for both self-charging and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs and PHEVs).
Amidst the introduction of the NGEN range, Motul made sure to remind its dealer partners of the other outstanding products in its lineup, including its Motul Car Care range, and flagship 300V racing oil
To be offered in 0W16 and 0W20 viscosities, the NGEN HYBRID oil is designed to optimise fuel economy, and squeeze extra mileage out of a hybrid car's tank by minimising engine internal friction. It also meets the stringent API SQ motor oil performance standard, which builds on the performance benefits of API SP, and is designed to meet the needs of the most modern of car engines.
Alongside these, Motul Singapore also showcased other longer-standing products in its line during the evening, including its engine oil gasoline and diesel additives, its Motul Car Care range, and its flagship 300V racing oil.
And beyond just quality products, the firm underscored its relentless efforts to service its ever-growing network of dealers through both enhancements on the supply chain front and through its dealer support programmes.
Motul reiterated its commitment to upholding the best service excellence standards for its dealer partners, and will continue to aid them in increasing awareness of its products via initiatives such as a Motul Support Program. In recent times, it has also collaborated with Sgcarmart on customised and bolstered brand exposures on its workshop directory
Plans for the new year include increased exposure for the full Motul product range, continued engagement with motorsport events (including MotoGP, Super GT and STCC), and an enlarged spotlight on both customer and dealer stories through visual storytelling on social media platforms. To specially promote Motul workshops, Motul has even worked with Sgcarmart on customised and bolstered brand exposures on the latter's extensive workshop directory (dubbed 'Motul Pro-Shop').
The efforts above come just a year after Motul unveiled a significant overhaul of its Singapore webpage. The revamp allows vehicle owners here to find the ideal lubricants and products for their cars more easily, as well as better locate their nearest Motul dealer partner.
As with any night that puts the spotlight on the dealers, the evening saw outstanding dealer partners honoured through the evening in the form of Distribution Excellence, Marketing Excellence and Retail Excellence Awards.
Outstanding dealers were also awarded through the evening in the fields of Distribution, Marketing and Retail excellence
After treating guests to a buffet spread and an evening of performances from local band, LeVolution, the Dealers' Conference concluded on a high with a lucky draw that saw winners walking home with exciting prizes including Motul vouchers, a PlayStation 5 Slim Digital Edition, and an Apple iPhone 16.
As a true testament to Motul's deep motorsports links, the luckiest name of the evening even clinched an all-expenses-paid trip for two people to the MotoGP Motegi Japan, which will take place across 26 to 28 September this year.
