Next-gen Audi A8 to get new RWD system & 'aluminium hybrid' body

It is reported that sources within Audi have revealed that the new A8 will discard the current all-aluminium body in favour of an 'aluminium hybrid' body which is essentially high strength steel and composite materials.
Also, the new model might be based on the modular standard architecture currently under development at Porsche which will be used for the next-gen Panamera and other sedans wearing the Bentley badge. Another proposed big change would be the switch to rear-wheel-drive layout.
If all the changes pan out, the new A8 should launch sometime in 2016. Expect more details to come as the A8 nears its production.
The current generation Audi A8 is scheduled for a facelift at the beginning of next year, and set to receive a power boost for the V8 TDI engine which will probably output more than 400bhp. In addition, the W12 engine will also get turbocharged to produce more torque.
