Nissan launches the redesigned 2011 Elgrand in the UK

Nissan's popular family van gets a totally new look for 2011. The new van looks really sharp, or it looks really awkward. Depending on which angle you're looking from.

The heavily sculpted body is propelled along by either a 3.5 litre V6, or a 2.5 litre 4 cylinder. Additionally, Elgrand buyers can choose front-wheel drive, or 4-wheel drive.

Inside, the Elgrand gets a very "Grand" equipment list.

Some of the available features include a 13 speaker Bose "Private Theatre" system, with an 11-inch fold-down monitor. And, Nissan's new™"idiot driver assist"™which includes an "Around View Monitor", that uses side mounted cameras to flash a 180 degree side view of the van onto the navigation screen. It activates when you're parking, or come to an intersection that the Nav system deems "visibly difficult".

So, Nissan has finally given us a solution to those low-tech, hard to use™side windows!

Besides a bunch of other useless, electronic novelties, the 2011 Nissan Elgrand also gets new seats, a new suspension, and a SU-LEV certification with tax benefits.

So, your kids will love watching the big TV. Your accountant will love the tax break. And, you'll love not having to look out of the side windows!
