Nissan unveils latest Navara pickup in Australia

Nissan has pulled the covers off its all-new, fourth-generation Navara. Designated for the Australia and New Zealand markets, the pickup truck is set to go on sale in Oceania in the first quarter of 2026.
The latest Navara is quite the mean-looking machine, especially when decked out in the orange-against-black colour combination seen in these photos.
You'll have to rely partially on your imagination to see it, but Nissan states that the ute sports its signature V-motion grille, as well as C-shaped head lamps and three-part intake openings outlined in orange, the latter of which pay homage to the first-generation Navara.
Though carrying on the same sort of racy aesthetic as the pickup’s exterior styling, the Navara's cabin is a surprisingly refined affair, boasting two-tone leather seats and spacious seating for five.
The dashboard houses a 7.0-inch instrument cluster and a 9.0-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless phone mirroring
Its super-contemporary dashboard also houses a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 9.0-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.
And under its chunky hood, the Navara has exactly the sort of torquey powertrain to match its rugged outlook.
Power comes from a 2.4-litre turbodiesel engine producing up to 201bhp and a literal truckload of 470Nm of torque. This, in turn, is paired to a six-speed automatic transmission.
Despite the Navara's hunkering size, Nissan reckons you won't be struggling with its steering; it adopts a new electric power steering system that is said to boost manoeuvrability and handling.
Perhaps most important to potential owners, however, is the fact that the Navara features an advanced four-wheel drive system that can automatically shift between the most optimal mode of any given driving scenario.
When cruising out on the highway, for instance, the Navara can slip into two-wheel drive mode for improved fuel economy. (It's also worth pointing out that the Navara gets a wide range of ADAS systems to take the stress out of high-speed, longer-distance driving.)
It then seamlessly engages four-wheel drive when towing or taking on heavier duty tasks. Also equipped as standard is an electronically controlled differential lock, and specially optimised suspension.
