Nissan reveals its Ambition 2030 roadmap

Nissan Motor has unveiled Nissan Ambition 2030, its new long-term vision for empowering mobility and beyond.

The Nissan Ambition 2030 will take the firm to a truly sustainable status, driving its progress towards a cleaner, safer, and more inclusive world.

Part of Nissan Ambition includes the delivery of what it states will be exciting, electrified vehicles and innovations while expanding its operations globally. The firm plans to become carbon neutral across the life cycle of its products by fiscal year 2050.

An investment of over $24 billion over the next five years will finance Nissan's development of electrified vehicles an innovation.

As part of the Nissan Ambition 2030, the firm will introduce 23 new electrified models, including 15 new all-electric vehicles by 2030. It is aiming for an electrification mix of more than 50% globally across the Nissan and Infiniti brands.

20 of these models will be introduced within the next five years alone, with Nissan planning its European electrification mix to comprise more than 75% of sales.

Nissan also aims to launch electric vehicles with its proprietary all-solid-state batteries by fiscal year 2028 and ready a pilot plant in Yokohama as early as fiscal year 2024.

The new battery technology is said to offer dynamic performance and reduce charging time to one-third, as well as make electric vehicles more efficient and accessible.

The firm will further establish a global battery supply system to meet growing customer vehicle demand and support the growing number of EVs in use. It plans to increase it global battery production capacity to 52GWh by fiscal year 2026, and 130GWh by fiscal year 2030.

The firm's unique EV Hub concept, EV36Zero, a fully integrated manufacturing and service ecosystem connecting mobility and energy management first launched in the U.K. with the aim of realising carbon neutrality will also be expanded to core markets including Japan, China, and the U.S.A.
