Nissan has announced that it will begin distributing micro-mobility vehicles in the U.K.
The move comes alongside the firm's newly announced partnership with Acciona's car manufacturer Silence, described by Nissan as a leading electric micro-mobility vehicle brand. Under this partnership, Nissan will hold distribution and service rights in the U.K. from October 2024 for the Silence product range, including the Silence S04 quadricycle vehicles and electric motorcycles.
The new collaboration means Nissan's customers in the country will be able to access a range of Silence products, starting with the popular S04 Nanocar. This lightweight electric vehicle will be offered in two variants, with the L7e offering a range of 148km and a top speed of 86km/h, and the L6e offering a range of 175km and a top speed of 45km/h.
Both variants of the vehicle are powered by two 5.6kWh batteries, and charging these can be done directly, although the option to perform a battery swap at dedicated stations will also be offered. A removable battery pack will also offer users the option to easily charge at home or in the office.
The car also comes with its own 'My Silence' app, which will open up features including keyless entry, location tracking, and remote monitoring of vehicle range and battery charge. The app will also allow customers to connect with friends and share access to their vehicle, without the need to exchange keys.
