Nissan has said that it will introduce the U.S.A-built Murano to the Japanese market, with sales scheduled to begin in early 2027.
Nissan will utilise the new certification system for U.S.A-made passenger vehicles established by Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism in February 2026 to bring the model to Japan.
Currently, the 2026 Murano is available in SV, SL, and Platinum grade in North America. It sports a striking exterior design includes premium touches like 21-inch wheels, ultra-thin LED headlights, and a full-width LED taillight.
It comes with a 2.0-litre Variable Compression Turbo powertrain that coughs up 238bhp and 353Nm of torque. Paddle shifters and drive mode selector also give drivers more control and excitement behind the wheel.
Inside, for the SL and Platinum grade, dual 12.3-inch displays feature available Google built-in. Seamlessly integrated camera technologies include Invisible Hood View and 3D Enhanced Intelligent Around View Monitor. In addition, backseat passengers are able to enjoy available rear door sunshades and heated rear seats, Nissan Zero Gravity outboard rear seats and additional rear knee room.
The Murano also comes with a host of safety features such as Nissan Safety Shield 360, Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, and Standard ProPilot Assist, among others.
While these features are true for the U.S.A-spec, it remains to be seen whether the Japanese market will see the same equipment and features.
