Off-service SBS Transit bus catches fire on CTE

An SBS Transit bus commuting along the Central Expressway (CTE) earlier today morning caught fire. The accident took place near the Ang Mo Kio Ave 1 exit towards the city.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was alerted of the incident at 6:38am. A fire engine and a Red Rhino were dispatched to the scene, and the blaze was extinguished in 10 minutes. Thankfully no injuries were reported - partially because the bus was off-service and no passengers were on board.

The accident led to a massive jam along the CTE during the morning rush hour.
