Omoda and Jaecoo bring electric mobility to Thomson Plaza

Thanks to generous subsidies and an ever-growing number of charging points, switching to an electric car has never been easier. But in case you missed the Singapore Motor Show last weekend, don't worry, there are still sweet deals being offered.
If you happen to be around the central part of Singapore, head on down to the Omoda and Jaecoo roadshow in Thomson Plaza. Taking place from 12-18 January 2026, prices here start from $146,999 with COE.
At the roadshow, you can get up close to the Jaecoo 6, a rugged-looking SUV whose boxy shape is big on road presence. Look past the outdoorsy styling, however, and you'll discover a plush interior with lots of soft-touch surfaces. A sunroof, plus ventilated front and outer rear seats, help ensure comfort on long road trips.
Most drivers - especially those with no intentions of going off-road - will like the rear-wheel drive Cat A model. But for those seeking greater performance, there's a Cat B Jaecoo 6 with all-wheel drive and more driving modes, to help you tackle a wider variety of surfaces.
If square shapes aren't your thing, then the Omoda E5 could be what you're looking for. The E5 features sleek head lights and tail-lamps, and a coupe-like roofline to give it that upmarket vibe. Inside, you'll find an advanced cockpit, with the instrument cluster and infotainment display housed in a single unit, and cool graphics to boot.
Performance-wise, the E5's electric motor delivers 99kW (133bhp) and 340Nm of torque, which enable it to go from rest to 100km/h in 11.1 seconds. Feeding the motor is a 61kWh battery that provides a driving range of 430km.
Although many drivers are considering switching from ICE to EV, not everyone can make charging their lifestyle, especially for those constantly on the move. Folks in the sales line, such as property agents, can't always be sure if they have the time or can find a charger at their next appointment.
A plug-in hybrid like the Jaecoo 7, in this case, would be more ideal. Like a regular hybrid, it has an internal combustion engine, electric motor, and battery pack. But unlike a normal hybrid, a plug-in hybrid can travel longer solely on electric power because it has a larger battery and more powerful electric motor.
The latter two components are what allow the Jaecoo 7 to run at higher speeds and for longer distances on electric power alone. Its battery is not only charged by the engine and through regenerative braking, but it can also be plugged into a charger (hence its name) to juice it up.
Impressively, the Jaecoo 7 can travel up to 1,200km provided the fuel tank is full and the 18.3kWh battery is fully charged. On electric power alone, it can cover up to 90km - nearly two days of driving for the average motorist.
Buyers who book their car at this roadshow will enjoy up to $15,000 in savings, a dollar-to-dollar COE rebate, and up to 40% Charge+ charging discount.
The Sgcarmart Premium Brand Showcase - Omoda and Jaecoo is at the West Atrium in Thomson Plaza, 301 Upper Thomson Rd, #01-84, Singapore 574408.
