Overwhelming response for the new NSX has tasked Honda to open pre-orders

Whether the highly anticipated successor to the NSX will arrive in our local shores is yet to be seen, but the U.K. arm of Honda has already opened a pre-order bank - even before the reveal of the production model.

This should not come as a surprise as the previous NSX saw 25 pre-orders taken a year ahead of its U.K. launch as well. The critically acclaimed NSX was launched in 1990 and spent 15 years in production - selling 18,000 units globally with only 290 units finding homes in the U.K.
The futuristic 'Tony Stark approved' NSX Concept was first unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show last year, which previewed the design of the next performance oriented vehicle from Honda.
The NSX Concept features a low and wide stance with dynamic proportions highlighted by clean, modern and simple surfacing with typical edgy details that provides the supercar attitude. Much like the spirit of its predecessor, Honda's designers have strived to deliver synergy between man and machine.
The forthcoming NSX will be powered by a mid-mounted V6 engine mated to Honda's Sport Hybrid SH-AWD (Super Handling All-Wheel Drive) system. It will also utilise a unique two Electric Motor Drive Unit with a bilateral torque adjustable control system that allows the new hybrid all-wheel drive system to adjust torque delivery to the front wheels during cornering - much like the electric SLS AMG. Honda believes this will deliver a handling performance unmatched by previous AWD systems.

Phil Crossman, Managing Director of Honda (U.K.) commented, "We are still two years away from the launch of the car and yet we've received over 20 deposits and that's before we've even announced prices or seen the final production car. With this process in place we are confident demand will remain strong and early hand raisers can now visit any Honda dealership in the UK and place a deposit."
