Polo R is teased in Austria through WRC concept

Taking inspiration from motor racing and applying it to the street is Volkswagen’s motto for the Polo WRC Street concept car. Unveiled at the Worthersee festival, it is expected to be launched in late 2013 as the Polo R.

The WRC Street stands out with its unique and distinctive design, complete with a rear spoiler, diffuser, sports suspension and R-WRC logo inscriptions. A powerful turbo and supercharged 217bhp 2.0-litre TSI engine replicates the motorsport performance from the small humble car.

The WRC competitor prototype is also displayed. Power comes from a 1.6-litre TSI powertrain with 296bhp and hits 100km/h in just 4.1sec.
