The Cayman S Black Edition will have a 3.4-litre six-cylinder boxer engine, which will have an extra 10bhp, bringing power output up to 330bhp. Torque remains unchanged at 370Nm. The extra power means that the Cayman S Black Edition is able to go from 0-100km/h in 5.1 seconds, with that time going to 5 seconds flat if fitted with the optional Porsche PDK double-clutch gearbox.
Performance can be even further enhanced if the Sport Chrono package is specified and the car’s Launch Control system is engaged. 0-100km/h sprint time drops by a further 0.2 seconds, to 4.8 seconds with that option. Top speed for the Cayman S Black Edition is 279km/h with a manual transmission, and 277km/h with the PDK transmission.
As its name suggests, the limited edition model features extensive use of black for its exterior and interior. The Cayman S Black Edition comes with special black paintwork and black 19-inch alloy wheel, as well as black smoked headlights. The interior is also decked in black, with a black dashboard, gear lever and instrument dials and the “Black Edition” inscription on the stainless steel sills. The lid of the glove compartment also has a badge indicating the production number of the car.
The Cayman S Black Edition's standard equipment includes Bi-Xenon headlights with dynamic cornering function and LED daytime running lights, anti-dazzle interior and exterior mirrors with integrated rain sensor, black seats with partial leather upholstery, automatic climate control, Sport Design steering wheel and cruise control.

The Black Edition nameplate was first used for the Boxster, and now Porsche has applied it to the Cayman S. The limited edition Cayman S Black Edition will have increased performance and additional equipment, and only 500 units will be produced and sold worldwide.
