Porsche has revealed the new Panamera.
The car now gets an additional air intake located above the number plate, which is said to be necessary to compensate for the increased air required of its drive systems.
From the flank, the updated car now gets a new window line, which brings added emphasis to its sedan body. And at the rear, the outer edges of the rear window are now flush to the contour of the body.
The Porsche Panamera comes with Matrix LED head lights as standard. However, high-resolution HD Matrix LED items are also available as an option. These come with more than 32,000 pixels per head light, and offer features including dedicated lane brightening, and offer an illumination range of up to 600m.
In the cabin, the Panamera now sports the Porsche Driver Experience cockpit first available in the all-electric Taycan. This cockpit places a 12.6-inch curved and free-standing instrument cluster ahead of the driver, and also hosts a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment screen. An optional 10.9-inch touchscreen will also be available for the front passenger which supports video streaming. This display cannot be seen from the driver’s seat.
The new cockpit also places the gear selector lever directly to the right of the steering wheel, freeing up space on the centre console for a new air-conditioning control panel. This Panamera also comes with a cooled smartphone wireless charging compartment.
This updated Porsche Panamera will come with a total of four E-Hybrid powertrains, all of which have received grater performance, range, and efficiency. Leading the lineup is the Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid, which gets a revised 4.0-litre V8 engine paired to a 188bhp electric motor. This variant gets a total output of 671bhp and develops a peak torque of 930Nm.
This output allows the Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid to reach 100km/h from a standstill in 3.2 seconds. A battery capacity of 25.9kWh allows it to deliver an electric-only range of 91km. Charging this battery can be done at a rate of up to 11kW.
The Panamera and Panamera 4 variants will also be available at launch. These variants get a 2.9-litre V6 engine with revised boost pressure, fuel injection flow rates, and well as an optimised ignition timing.
These upgrades mean the variants now deliver a total of 349bhp and 500Nm of torque. The century sprint time of the Panamera has been brought to 5.1 seconds, while the all-wheel drive Panamera 4 now takes 4.8 seconds to complete the same sprint.
To rein in all this power, this updated Panamera now gets two-valve dual-chamber air suspension as standard, allowing the car to offer an even wider range between comfort and sportiness. The Porsche Active Ride active suspension system is also available as an option for all E-Hybrid variants of this Panamera.
Deliveries of this new Porsche Panamera will begin in the third quarter of 2024.
