Amidst the glitz of Auto Shanghai 2025, Porsche has pulled the covers off its latest limited-edition 911: The Porsche 911 Spirit 70. Only 1,500 units of the car are set to be produced.
Created as part of the Heritage Design strategy, the 911 Spirit 70 is the third 911 model Porsche has revived, with the first being the 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition in 2020, and the 911 Sport Classic in 2022.
The technical basis for the 911 Spirit 70 is the current 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet, which carries the first-ever hybrid powertrain known to the 911 lineup. In combination with the high-voltage system, the eTurbo, and the electric motor in the new PDK, the car's 3.6-litre boxer engine delivers an output of 398kW (534bhp) and 610Nm of torque.
The Olive Neo colour was created especially for the 911 Spirit 70, with its lower rear section, front section, and Sport Classic wheels in 'Fuchs' design painted in this grey-gold hue. Its soft top is black, as is its windscreen frame. Three decorative stripes in black silk gloss run the length of its bonnet, reminiscent of the safety stickers from the 1970s.
The highlight of the car's interior is the iconic Pasha fabric pattern in black/olive neo, with the graphic design of the fabric emulating a moving chequered flag. The centre panels of the 18-way sports seats Plus, the door mirrors, and even the inside of the glove compartment are also covered in the Pasha pattern. Decorative inlays on the seat backrests and the dashboard trim are also available in Pasha as an option.
Mixing elements of Porsche's past with those found in the present 911, the car's instrument cluster sports a high-resolution 12.65-inch display with white pointers and scale lines in analogue format. Green digits are reminiscent of the legendary Porsche 356 and the model lettering is elegantly integrated into the fully digital rev counter. White hands and green numerals also characterise the special version of the Sport Chrono stopwatch.
Porsche has said that the 911 Spirit 70 can be ordered immediately. It is expected to arrive at European dealerships from April 2025, with other markets to follow.
