Porsche has unveiled a new Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid, the most powerful Cayenne yet.
The Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid and Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid Coupe both utilise a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine paired to a 174bhp electric motor, which combined, allows the cars to push out a system total of 730bhp.
This compares favourably against the 671bhp of the pre-facelift Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid, or the 631bhp output of the Cayenne Turbo GT revealed in July of 2021. This 730bhp output will also see this new Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid completing the sprint from zero to 100km/h in 3.7 seconds, and facilitates a top speed of 295km/h.
The electric motor is fed via a 25.9kWh high-voltage battery installed beneath the load compartment floor that enables an electric range of up to 82km.
Aiding control over all this power is a standard adaptive air suspension with two-chamber, two-valve technology that allows separate control over the rebound and compression stages of the dampers.
The technology allows a greater range between the car's 'Comfort' and 'Sport Plus' suspension settings. The Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid will also come with Porsche's Torque Vectoring Plus system as standard, while Dynamic Chassis Control and rear-axle steering are available as added options.
On the exterior, both the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid SUV and its coupe variant come with the larger cooling intakes at the front associated with the firm's Turbo models. At the rear, the cars also get a bumper that is finished in the exterior colour which houses two twin tailpipes, finished in brushed stainless steel.
The cars also get aluminium inlays on the dashboard and door panel trims in their cabins. This is complemented by a heated GT sports steering wheel, a switch for fast and direct selection of the desired driving mode, and 18-way adjustable leather sports seats, although 14-way adjustable leather comfort seats are also available.
Customers may additionally opt for a GT Package with their Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid Coupe. This package finishes the Cayenne with a ride height that is lowered by 10mm, as well as an increase in the camber on the front axle and wider front wheels for a more dynamic steering response in corners, higher overall steering precision, and enhanced cornering grip.
The package also adds the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake system, as well as rear-axle steering, amongst other handling upgrades.
The GT Package also finishes off the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid Coupe with additional black accents at the front, black wheel arch extensions, carbon sideplates on its roof spoiler, as well as centrally positioned tailpipes of the titanium exhaust system from the Turbo GT, housed within a carbon rear diffuser. The GT Package also finishes the car with a roof made of lightweight carbon fibre.
The Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid Coupe with the GT package is is limited to the markets in which the Cayenne Turbo GT is no longer available due to local regulations. This applies to the majority of EU markets, as well as Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore.
