Porsche is marking the end of its 2,500-example production run of the 911 Dakar with one special Sonderwunsch 911 Dakar, which was commissioned for an Italian collector of sports cars.
The 911 Dakar is already mighty special, with ground clearance raised by 50mm on top of that provided by a 911 Carrera with the sports suspension, red forged aluminium recovery eyelets at the front and rear, as well as widened wheel arches and sills, all designed to allow it to take on more challenging terrain.
The Sonderwunsch 911 Dakar also gets wheels and a cabin that make use of the Signal yellow deployed on its exterior
And this example come with added custom touches including the bright three-tone paint job you see, comprising of Signal yellow and Gentian blue metallic, finished with a painted blue line between, to echo the look of the car from the 1984 Paris-Dakar Rally.
This blue hue - named Lampedusa blue - is said to take its inspiration from Italian Mediterranean island from which it gets its name and was created in collaboration with the new owner of the car. The car finally gets its stainless-steel protective elements on the front, rear, and its sills all finished in black.
In its cabin, the same colour scheme is adopted, and the car gets '911 Dakar' lettering in Speedyellow embroidered onto its sports seats, while its gear selector come with a leather insert of the same colour.
