Porsche unveils V8 powered 911 secret project

Right after the first 911, Porsche was busy at work with its successor. One of the ideas the fabled German marque was experimenting with was adopting a V8 - sourced from compatriot marque Audi. Porsche, amongst other things, is famous for its flat engines so placing a V8 in the iconic 911 would have been an interesting proposition.

Sadly, the experiment did not materialise, but we are hoping it does one day.
