In an article published by Christophorus (Porsche’s in-house publication), a source have revealed that the 918 Spyder will receive a bigger V8 and pack more technologies when it goes for production. A model which is closer to the production trim will be revealed at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, 18 months away from now.
The hybrid supercar will sport a 4.6-litre V8 engine, an increase from 3.4-litre that was fitted to the concept unit which was first seen in Geneva last year. The new engine will produce an additional 54 horses, which should translate to more impressive timings at the Nurgburgring.
