Recalled: 2005-2008 Toyota Corolla

Toyota announced that it's recalling some 1.13 million Corolla's, and Matrix' to fix an improperly manufactured Engine Control Unit.

The effected cars are powered by Toyota's 1ZZ-FE 1.8 litre engine. It seems that certain solder joints in the ECU's circuitry can break. Causing a rough idle, hard shifting, and in some cases, a no-start, or complete engine stall.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said that 3 accidents, related to this problem, have been reported. However, Toyota says that they haven't confirmed the faulty ECU was to blame for the wrecks.

Toyota will replace the effected car's ECU at no charge.
