BMW has unveiled the performance variant to the all new 2 Series - courtesy of a little automotive witchcraft from the M Motorsport division. At the heart of the all new M235i is an in-line six-cylinder power unit with M Performance TwinPower Turbo technology. The rump generates maximum output of 326bhp and peak torque of 450Nm and leaps the coupe from naught to the mark of the century in 5.0 seconds.

As a result, it dashes from rest to 100km/h in 5.0 seconds. The BMW M235i Coupe can also be ordered with an eight-speed Sports automatic, complete with Launch Control, as an option. With Launch Control activated, the 0 to 100km/h sprint is over in 4.8 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 250km/h with either gearbox.
To harness all the power, the M235i features model-specific chassis technology and individually configured spring and damper systems along with specific elastokinematics for the front axle. Added to which, the BMW M235i Coupe comes as standard with the M Sport braking system and variable sport steering, which determines its own characteristics.
Like its chassis technology, the aerodynamic properties have also been tweaked to take into account the power output of the engine. The front apron bears hallmark M design with large air intakes and flaps adapted from racing car design, occupying the space reserved for foglamps in the other BMW 2 Series model variants.
Other features of the exterior design are BMW Individual High-gloss Shadow Line trim, exterior mirror caps in Ferric Grey, striking contoured side skirts and a rear apron whose lower section is finished in Dark Shadow metallic paintwork and also incorporates the exhaust system's twin tailpipes.
In the cabin, you are greeted with door sill strips with aluminium inserts bearing 'M235i' lettering ahead of sports seats for the front occupants and an M multifunction steering wheel. The roof lining is finished in Anthracite while the rim is finished in Aluminium Hexagon with accent strips in matt Estoril Blue or high-gloss black.

The BMW M235i Coupe is fitted as standard with a six-speed manual gearbox, which, in this new BMW M Performance Automobile, comes with dry sump lubrication and a short shift facility for particularly sporty gear changes.
