Rolls-Royce introduces new fragrance: Rolls-Royce Scent

As if travelling in some of the most finely-crafted cabins in the automotive world couldn't get even more opulent and cosseting, Rolls-Royce is elevating the interior experience of its cars further with the introduction its first ever 'immersive fragrance concept': Rolls-Royce Scent.
The level of detail that goes into Rolls-Royce interiors should be no secret by now - and with Rolls-Royce Scent, similarly fastidious attention was accorded. Specifically, the brand states that an expert in-house perfume at its Bespoke Collective was in charge of ensuring that the fragrance would complement the pre-existing natural aromas of materials used within the car.
Aimed at elevating the interior experience of its cars even further, Rolls-Royce Scent is said to introduce new “comforting and relaxing olfactory themes” with its blend of Amyris, Cedarwood, Rosewood and Iris. Altogether, Rolls-Royce expects the fragrance to present a soft aroma that still has richness and depth - which in turn, will embody the qualities of its cars.
Set to be introduced alongside Rolls-Royce scent was well as is a new patented fragrance-releasing system, whose structure ensures that the fragrance is released in measured doses both for a sense of sophistication as well as lasting effect.
As is the Rolls-Royce way, extensive testing was apparently undertaken before the final iteration of Rolls-Royce Scent was arrived at. How many prior iterations were there, you ask? A whopping total of more than 30 - before Goodwood's in-house experts were finally satisfied that it would meet the requirements of the brand's clientele.
Part of the development process involved analysing the fragrance in static and dynamic conditions, and across a range of temperature and humidity extremes. Given the manner of the fragrance-release mentioned earlier, there was also the question of subtlety versus longevity. To that end, Rolls-Royce also notes that its specialists pored over the exact dose to place in the diffusing system.
For now, Rolls-Royce has only confirmed the introduction of Rolls-Royce Scent to its Phantom flagship - though it shouldn't be surprising if the fragrance concept extended is eventually to other models in the future.
