"No other luxury product comes close to Phantom Extended Wheelbase in staging an object of exquisite beauty, effortless opulence and grand theatre. I am delighted that our discerning Chinese clients continue to value Phantom Extended Wheelbase," said Torsten Muller-Otvos, CEO of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.

On the inside there is an updated user interface with re-designed multi-media controller, to control the satellite navigation with functions like 3D maps with landscape topography, guided tours and route planning. All these are presented on a larger 8.8 inch control centre display, with eight programmable bookmarks.
A new 8-speed automatic gearbox and rear differential enhances the already well renowned driving dynamics, perfectly complementing the V12 direct injection engine. Fuel consumption has also improved by 10 per cent and CO2 emissions have dropped to 349 g/km.
A good 60 pairs of hands and more than 450 hours are spent to design, construct and craft every Rolls-Royce Phantom with more than 1000 employees back in the Goodwood factory.
More than 1,600 tiny fibre optic lights are hand-woven into the leather roof lining.
Rolls-Royce debuted the new Phantom Extended Wheelbase (E.W.) during the Beijing motor show. China is the company's largest market and follows last year’s global debut for the Ghost Extended Wheelbase in Shanghai. The launch venue of the Phantom E.W. Series II seems appropriate as the brand continues growth in China, with eight new showrooms to be opened this year.

Phantom Series II features significant improvements in design, drive-train and technology over the original Phantom which was launched back in 2003. The new front-end design comes with re-styled bumpers, rectangular light apertures and full-LED headlamps that automatically change the shape and direction of light beams according to road orientation and conditions.
