RUF presents the Porsche Cayenne-based eRUF Stormster Electric Vehicle

RUF, who are based in the small town of Pfaffenhausen in Bavaria, Germany, are more well-known for tuning Porsches for performance. However, their latest creation is a big departure from their usual products, although the company had previously showcased its eRUF Greenster project at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show.

The eRUF Stormster EV is powered by a Siemens electric motor taken from the Greenster, which sources its power from a lithium-ion battery from Li-Tec Battery GmbH, Europe's first lithium-ion battery manufacturer.

As a result, the eRUF Stormster EV has a power output of 367bhp, and can go from 0-100km/h in 10 seconds. Top speed is said to be 150km/h, and on a full charge, the Stormster has a range of 200km. Total body weight of the eRUF Stormster is 2670kg. Other modifications include special winter tyres sized 295/30 R 22 developed by Hankook for the Stormster, wrapped around RUF classic 5 spoke lightweight wheels.
