Sgcarmart honours its 2024 Star Merchants, Premium Dealers

For the second night in a row (27 January 2024), the lobby of Mandarin Oriental Singapore was once more buzzing with activity as conversations flowed, and camera flashes lit up a dedicated photo booth. 

Except that instead of celebrating the defining cars of 2023, this evening saw some of the most esteemed names in the aftermarket and pre-owned car sector - and among them, approximately 270 guests - coming together to be honoured for their market leadership. 

After an electrifying lion-dance performance, during which guests were serenaded by dance troupes in colourful LED-lined costumes, the festivities launched straight into the Star Merchant-awards segment. 

A total of 31 different Star Merchants were recognised across various important categories for their outstanding performance in the automotive aftermarket industry over the past year. 

Among them, more than a handful have maintained an unbroken record of excellence in their respective fields for a while now. For instance, Auto Image Pte Ltd ('Upholstery - Seats and Tops' category) and Revol Carz Makeover Pte Ltd ('Paint Protection' category) have both been awarded as Star Merchants for 12 consecutive years.

But relative newcomers were also among the esteemed names for this rodeo, including the likes of Fresh Cars ('Car Rental' category), Skylink Vehicle Rental Pte Ltd. ('Commercial Vehicle Rental' category), and 88 Auto Garage Pte Ltd ('Promising New Establishment - User Reviews' category).

After being punctuated with a performance by local singer, Tay Kewei, and a lucky draw segment, the evening also continued by honouring Sgcarmart's Premium Dealers.

The highly-exclusive Premium Dealer award is handed out to only the top 3% of pre-owned car dealers in Singapore. These include the likes of AA Trust Automotive, SG Car Choice, and Sime Darby Auto Selection. 

Apart from having sizeable sales volumes, and a minimum operation period of at least five years to show, these names have been recognised for their good business practices, clean reputations, and excellent customer service. 

The beginning of 2024 (and end of 2023) caps off a year of unprecedented spikes in COE premiums, which has affected every part of the local car industry in one way or another in recent times. Addressing the event's attendees during the evening, Mr. Vinod Cherumadathil, Managing Director and CEO of Sgcarmart, said, "What you do for the industry is incredible, and especially in a tough year like last year… we really appreciate all of your hard work, passion and dedication."
