Spy shots break 2013 Porsche 911 Targa's disguise
06 Dec 2012|2,682 views
A new batch of spy shots of the upcoming 2013 Porsche 911 Targa has surfaced.
The spy shots show the car wearing minimal camouflage and comes with a fake convertible roof that tries to hide the retro rollover bar. Upon closer examination, the small rear side window is also clearly a fake.
The new Porsche 911 Targa should essentially be the same as the 911 Carrera or Carrera S, depending on whether the sportier option is chosen.
This means the new Targa will feature a 3.4-litre flat-six engine good for 345bhp and 390Nm of torque, while the Targa S will benefit from a 3.8-litre flat-six engine, churning a maximum output of 394bhp and 440Nm of torque. A seven-speed manual will come as standard, with Porsche's seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission offered as an option.
The 2013 Porsche 911 Targa should make an official debut in the upcoming North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) at Detroit before going on sale sometime in the mid of next year.
