Upgraded Porsche 911 GT3 R to be tested in racing conditions

Porsche has announced that the development programme for the new customer racing model, based on the current GT3 race car, will take its next step under competitive conditions.

The pivotal outing of the new model - the No. 91 test car - will be held in collaboration with Herberth Motorsport from 19 to 20 April 2025 at Belgium's Spa-Francorchamps circuit.

The evolved 911 GT3 R will build upon the highly successful current model and sport enhancements to its aerodynamics, handling, and software updates

Given that the car will most likely compete in the 2026 racing season, Porsche's engineers focused on enhancing the new model's drivability. Modifications to aerodynamic components help to improve front-end behaviour under braking and acceleration. Important software updates have also been implemented, and the steering system has been refined by the engineering team in Weissach.

Porsche has stated that the evolved model will build upon the highly successful Porsche 911 GT3 R model and is set for public reveal in the third quarter of 2025, with further technical details to be disclosed at a later date.
