Ssangyong Korando spearheads Ssangyong's return to Europe

Ssangyong, which is now owned by Indian conglomerate Mahindra & Mahindra, is re-launching itself in Europe with the all-new Korando crossover SUV. The Korean carmaker is aiming the Korando at the likes of the Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage, Mitsubishi ASX and the Nissan Qashqai.The new Korando is based on the 2009 C200 Aero Concept that was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro’s ItalDesign. The car is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine that produces 175bhp and 360Nm of torque, and will be available in either front or four-wheel-drive, with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.
The front-wheel-drive Korando will be available in three trim levels: S and ES with the manual gearbox and EX with the automatic transmission, while the 4WD version will be available only with the top-of-the-line-EX trim. Standard equipment across the Korando range includes ESP, Hill Start Assist, cruise control and reverse parking sensors.
