The concept's design language both inside and out is believed to preview the forms and styles of the next generation of Subaru's models, with the exception of the scissor-style front doors. The four-seater model is powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged flat-four with direct-injection together with an electric motor that are mated to a continuously variable transmission and Subaru's symmetrical all-wheel drive system.
The concept can drive on pure electric power from its lithium-ion battery pack for short distances while Subaru says that the set-up allows all-wheel drive motion using only the motor at start-ups and low-speed drives.
The sleek looking station wagon could become a new standalone C-segment hybrid model that measures 4,580mm long, 1,840mm wide and 1,430mm tall. Its exterior dimensions place it between the current Impreza, which is 4,415mm long, and the Legacy, which is 4,775mm long.
