The launch, graced by host and celebrity Stephanie Carrington, marks Nissan's first model in the Singapore market that utilizes a newly developed "D" platform, and is the first in its class to feature a topload sunroof.
"The Teana is Nissan's new flagship luxury sedan. We hope to deliver a new definition of luxury to buyers with the introduction of this car," said Mr A C Neo, Marketing Director of Tan Chong Motor Sales Pte Ltd.
"Buyers can expect some new and innovative features in the car. One of which is the ventilated seats with cooling function. It helps to cool the driver and front passenger seats, which is something everyone can look forward to in this hot climate in Singapore."
He also added, "We are very encouraged by the pre-launch orders of the Teana.
They are mainly 2.3litre Cefiro owners upgrading to the new 2.5litre Teana where they are still able to enjoy the power and smoothness delivered by the V6 engine."
It will be offered with two re-engineered "VQ" series V6es and the MR20DE presently offered in the Qashqai. The 2.5-litre VQ25DE engine generates maximum power of 182.2 bhp (PS) at 6,000 rpm and has a maximum torque figure of 228 Nm at 4,400 rpm.
The larger 3.5-litre VQ35DE engine produces a maximum power of 251.5 PS at 6,000 rpm and maximum torque of 326 Nm at 4,400 rpm. Both of these VQ engines deliver 80% of their maximum torque from 1,600 rpm and up.
The MR20DE engine remains to be the bread and butter variant and promises good fuel mileage figures. All models are fitted with Nissan's new Xtronic CVT incorporating a newly developed shift control system - Adaptive Shift Control (ASC). ASC controls the shift timing according to the driver's personal driving style and the driving environment with over 700 shift patterns.
The Xtronic CVT used on the 3.5-litre models include a six-speed manual shift mode and synchro-rev control that controls the throttle during a downshift to synchronize the engine speed with the transmission for smooth, responsive shifting - basically a heel and toe function for this automatic.

The new Teana utilises a number of advanced safety systems, including:
1. VDC (Vehicle Dynamic Control) including TCS (Traction Control System) functionality (250XV and 350XV models only)
2. Low-friction seatbelts in all seat positions
3. Three-point ELR rear seatbelts for three passengers (with self-standing buckles)
4. Driver's seatbelt with double pre-tensioners (shoulder/lap belts)
5. Front seatbelt with pre-tensioner and two-stage load limiter
6. High-strength Zone Body construction for high safety
7. Impact-energy-absorbing body structure for mitigating pedestrian injuries
8. SRS air bag systems for the driver and front passenger
9. SRS side air bag systems for the driver and front passenger (250XV and 350XV models only)
10.SRS curtain air bag systems (350XV model only)
11.Front-seat Active Head Restraints
It will be offered in 200XV guise with prices starting from $88,500, a 250XV with a price tag of $97,500, and the range topping 350XV, starting from $109,500 - a very competitive price indication indeed. See our attached leaflet for detailed specifications
