The Land Rover Defender goes Yachting

The Land Rover Defender 90 is an amazingly capable off road vehicle. But sitting in one, has always been like…sitting inside a pair of work boots - until now that is.

German tuner Startech has taken this utilitarian SUV, and dressed it up…a lot.

They were going for the luxury yacht theme, so they lined floor with oiled Teak wood planks. Then the rest of the interior gets covered in navy blue leather hides, with contrasting white double stitching. And a navy blue Alcantara headliner, with the same white stitching detail.

Once the whole nautical theme sinks in, it's rather nice. It's not the type of interior that you'd expect to find in a rough & tumble off-roader. But it's still pleasant.

Outside, Startech paints the truck a brilliant white…like a boat. Then they add a pair of lighted running boards, a new grille, a few badges, and wider wheels & tyres.

Overall, the Defender 90 Yachting Edition by Startech is a well executed improvement on an already great truck. But, it'd be a shame to get that white paint job dirty.
